As of August 30, 2026, Anthropic confidentially submitted a draft registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 1, 2026, for a proposed initial public offering, the company said in a blog post reported by TechCrunch, WIRED, and CNBC.

The filing came days after Anthropic closed a $65 billion funding round that valued the company behind Claude at $965 billion, those outlets reported. TechCrunch, WIRED, and CNBC cited a recent revenue run-rate of about $47 billion. TechCrunch said the run-rate was up from $9 billion at the end of 2025; CNBC said it was up from $10 billion last year.

“This gives us the option to go public after the SEC completes its review,” Anthropic said in a statement quoted by CNBC. “The proposed initial public offering will depend on market conditions and other factors.” WIRED reported that Anthropic had not set the amount it would seek to raise or the valuation. CNBC said a confidential filing does not lock the company into a listing date and that a public prospectus must reach investors at least 15 days before a roadshow.

The Information has reported that Anthropic is aiming to publish its IPO prospectus after Labor Day. That timing is not in Anthropic’s own statement and remains secondhand.
